News:
Estes Park wrap up: Everyone had a great time up at Estes. Results will be coming out soon.
Upcoming meets: Evergreen, NJ Open (advanced), and Silver State (qualifier). Please keep an eye out for information concerning these meets.
Fundraising: We try to keep fundraising to a minimum because we respect your time and efforts. This weekend, however, gave us some great examples of areas we need to improve on as a team. Things such as starts (which can only be worked on by renting another facility), backstroke flags for turns and finishes, online meet entries, and other team expenses will need to be picked up through aggressive fundraising and will benefit the entire team. We are starting 2 projects:
Coach Monique is running our first fundraiser this year; Jewels by Park Lane, 25% will be given back to the swim team. We only have until January 26th for the current Park Lane order, so try get some Valentine Day gifts sold. She will have packets at the pool. PLEASE PICK THEM UP. Be sure to read the cover page on the packets (GREAT INFORMATION)
Many teams do a "Swim-a-thon" type fundraiser, which is a lap for cash deal. I like to be more creative. This year, we are going to "Swim to the Sea". As a team, we will add up the miles we swim in practice and apply them to the route that is chosen. We will have the option of 4 different river systems to follow out of Colorado toward the sea. The hardest will be the Platte, then the Arkansas, the Rio Grande, and easiest Colorado River. Money raised prior to the start will determine which river and where in Colorado we start. Once going, donations will help "speed up the river", thus making it easier or harder. No donations might make us swim through Butterfly Canyon, or across the Distance Desert. Friends and family will be able to track our progress through the CSA website
All donations can be made online through a secure fundraising website (credit accepted) or through cash or check on deck.
T-Shirts: In the upcoming weeks, we will be putting together a t-shirt order. If you have any design ideas, please feel free to share.
